Wenn wir bei Mengenangaben keine genaue Anzahl oder Menge (z.B. bei uncountable nouns) sagen können oder wollen, können wir im Englischen some und any verwenden.

There are five children in the playground. (Die Anzahl ist wichtig.)

There are some children in the playground. (I don't know how many - but you're not alone!)

I've got some money. (I don't know how much.)

Let's have some ice-cream.


I haven't got any money.

Any und seine Zusammensetzungen anybody, anywhere, anything, etc. werden bei Verneinungen und Fragen eingesetzt.

Some bei normalen Aussagesätzen.

Achtung
Im Deutschen reicht ein kein - im Englischen wird neben any immer noch not benötigt.

Wenn das Ergebnis egal ist, wird auch in positiven Sätzen any verwendet.
