"False Friends" sind Wörter zweier Sprachen, welche gleich geschrieben oder gesprochen werden, aber unterschiedliche Bedeutungen haben.

Beispiele:

          Unternehmer - Undertaker (bedeutet Leichenbestatter) 
          bekommen    - become     (bedeutet werden)
          Meinung     - meaning    (bedeutet Bedeutung)

Entstehung unseres Dialoges: Im Unterricht beschäftigten wir uns mit vielen verschiedenen false friends, wodurch wir erste Ideen für unseren Dialog bekamen. Innerhalb von sechs Unterrichtsstunden verwirklichten wir diese und führten unseren Dialog als 10 minütiges Theaterstück auf. Unser Schauspiel handelt von 3 deutschen Freunden, welche in London Urlaub machen und dort mit ihrem Englisch in Schwierigkeiten geraten.

Dialog:

On the room

Corinna: Endlich Urlaub!

Annelie: Das Zimmer ist schön!

Anna: Und sieh dir diesen Ausblick an! Ich geh jetzt erstmal den Swimmingpool testen.

Corinna: Annelie und ich müssen auch noch was erledigen.


at the reception desk

Annelie: Excause me, would you mind telling me the way to the shop?

Laura: Yes of course, please follow me. I also work as the shopassistent.

Corinna: Ok, thank you. We are looking for a present for our friend.

Laura: Oh Ok, I already have an idea for a beautiful gift.

Annelie: A gift? Are you stupid? Do you want to kill our friend?

Laura: No,No! Let me show you what I mean.

Corinna: But we do not want to see gift.

Laura: Come on,do not worry! Gift is a synonym for present.

Annelie: Oh sorry,we take the plant.

Laura: It costs 10 pounds.


the woman goes back to the reception desk

Laura: Hello can I help you?

Anna: I have got a question: Could you tell me where the hometrainers are?

Laura: At the moment we have not got personal trainers in the hotel, but I can call somebody for you who comes to your room.

" Hello I need a man for a guest from our hotel who can coatchs her."

Anna: No stop! I do not need a callboy! I just want a hometrainer!

Laura: But what is a hometrainer?! I thought it is like a personal trainer?

Anna: No it is equipment for sport.

Laura: Oh you mean an exercise bike? We have got a room full of these. You have to go downstairs and then left.

Anna: Thank you.


Laura: How can I help you?

Annelie: Where can I wash my Smoking?

Laura: Sorry, I do not understand you.

Annelie: My Smoking.

Laura: No, it is not allouwed to smoke in our hotel.

Annelie: No I do not want to smoke, I only want to wash this.

Laura: Ah you mean a dinner jacket! I bring it in the laundry service for you.

Annelie: Thank you very much!


4 hours later in the hotel

Laura: Hey ladies, how was your trip,do you like london?

Anna: It was beautiful.

Corinna: Oh my gosh I lost my Handy!!

Laura: What is a Handy? I thought it is an other word for useful.

Corinna: No I mean my mobilephone.

Laura: Ok, If I find it in the lost-proberty office, I will bring it to you or we go together and you look if you see it.

Corinna: Thank you, this is really nice!

2 days later

Laura: Hello, how are you?

Annelie: Thank you fine. Before we go home we have to handover a brief.

Laura: A brief?! For me?! You are really funny!

Corinna: Ok then we go to the post office.

Laura: Oh stop! Do you mean this letter? Then I can send it for you to germany.

Anna: Thank you, bye.

Laura: Puh, the annoying germans are finally away... Bvhsvsvghsvhva
